FRAGMENTED ROSE - LOOKING FOR INPUT

I was able to finish this digital painting in time enough for today....a rose is a rose is a rose...
I really think I have a thing for roses.
I like it except for the lil white around the green leaves...it was suppose to be the peach fuzz sort of thing...but I just could not get it any more tighter....now if the image was only a thumbnail, it would look perfect.
But in general I do like the way it turned out!
I have a couple of questions to just throw out there to all of you - let me know if you
have an opinion about them:
Do you feel obligated to leave a comment when you visit a blog?
If you have a blog - Do you want people to comment?
Do you blog for yourself or for others or a combination of both?
If NO ONE ever commented on your blog - would you still write in it faithfully?
If someone comments on your blog - do you feel obligated to go to their blog (if they have one) and leave a comment out of courtesy?
I have read in several blogs - this same dilemma going on...this same burning question
being asked in different forms...so I want to know how you all feel.
Thanks for any input you may have...
My fragmented rose is my entry for Day 17 of AEDM.
Thanks for Looking!!!

I find it easier to comment on blogs that I read daily because I already know their backstory and feel my comment could be helpful.

I LOVE comments!!!
I would still blog if no one commented on my blog and in the beginning there are many posts of mine with none or just a few comments.

I blog because it helps me personally and because I love the connections I have made and hope to continue making.

I usually visit everyone who has left a comment on my blog, but I don't feel obligated to comment back. If I am inspired to or in the mood and have the time than I comment!

hi ellie! i think everyone deals with these questions at one time or another. i'm sure some people have strong feelings about what blogging ettiquette is, but then i think we all do our best. i think if i tried to comment on everyone's blog i visit, it would take me 24 hours per day! i do my best to comment when i can and i often email back people who have left a comment on my blog (but not every time).

of course, i do love comments, but i'd blog without them. when i first started blogging, it was without comments. i love the connections that are formed through blogging though and i try to comment when i am inspired to do so and sometimes just to say "hi!" :-)

- No, I usually only comment if I want to or if I really enjoy, like something I see (which I do for sure on your blog ;) )
If you have a blog - Do you want people to comment?
- Sure, if they want to, if not that's fine as well. But who doesn't like comments from friendly and nice poeple, you make friends with after a while.
Do you blog for yourself or for others or a combination of both?
-Do blog for myself and to meet other poeple with the same interestes and to inspire
If NO ONE ever commented on your blog - would you still write in it faithfully?
- Yes, I would
If someone comments on your blog - do you feel obligated to go to their blog (if they have one) and leave a comment out of courtesy?
-No, but I'm curious what's new on their's, so I go check it out and if I see something I like, I comment. And of course with friends I comment more often than with new people. For me friendship is important I try to care for connections I make/made so far.

Concerning roses, I have a favor for white roses, they just seem more fotografic to me. I kind of find it hard to get a good foto of red roses....
The foto you altered is a good shot to work with and I think the white around the leaves makes it even more interesting and unique! Thanks for sharing ;)

Hi Ellie,

I usually leave at least one comment unless I don't like the work or blog ... then I move on. It helps me feel connected a little to someone. I LOVE it when someone comments. Your comment is why I am here. I know that comments make feel like it is worth writing ... that some is reading!!

I blog for a combo ... and I am an artist that is marketing a lot of my work (at Etsy and CafePress and my site) ... so I am also trying to develop a customer base ... and wanting to share my art that many say is uplifting.

I am not sure I would write if no one commented ... for awhile I would - I am making a commitment to blog and see how it goes.

I generally try to go comment on someone else's blog - partly in courtesy and partly to see what theirs looks like. I have found some great blogs that way.

I like the rose as it is. If you want it more peachy (the white part) you could click it with the magic wand and change each of those sections to peachier.

Long post here!!
