COLOR AND MOOD CHALLENGE

Anke over at CREATIVE SPIRITS CONNECT - has a new challenge this month
it is - Colors and Moods...what colors invoke what mood within you!!
Check out her site to see what the challenge is all about....The above image I just manipulated
6 colors - they are 2 inches by 2 inches and typed out how each color makes me feel - the mood that it stirs in me (at least for today)....I thought it look pretty cool....but of course I had to go one more then that so I created this:
This creation is 8 inches by 8 inches with a quote from Cyndi Lauper on TRUE COLORS..
which I thought was appropriate.
You can click on either image to see them a bit larger - I had to scale them down to put them
here on the blog.
I really liked this challenge...I really feel that colors do invoke moods, attitudes but more importantly - I think that our moods or attitudes show up in the colors we use!!!
What do YOU think?
These are also my entries for CED - after all - I did create something!!!lol
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

OWL - ATC CARDS

Today I worked on some ATC's -(artist trading cards). Mary Ann over at HANDMADE MONDAY - has a creative prompt this week and it is - OWLS...
So that was my inspiration....the top card has an Owl flying into the scene...I like all
the elements because it is so spring like - so colorful - and with all the blizzards and such
happening around the country - I wanted to make it something bright and colorful.
Bloom Where You Are Planted - is GREAT advice - !!!
Of course I was on an Owl roll - and found another Owl I wanted to do something with
and this is what I came up with:

An Owl and child owl sharing a moment....they look happy...and love does bring them
comfort. I really liked the image...and the crumbled paper gives it a different like of dimension to it.
I am quite pleased with my ATC creations....They are my entries for both CED and HANDMADE MONDAY!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

PINK 5 PETAL FLOWER AND AN AWARD

Okay - perhaps I am a bit obsessed with pink...I just cannot help myself.
I saw a photo of this flower and could not get it painted fast enough...took about 4 or so hours..but I absolutely LOVE the results....what a great pink...what a simple flower that just
makes me feel good and smile...I really am quite happy with it!!! (can you tell?)
I know this may sound wishy washy - but I truly believe that nature is truly God showing us miracles everyday...such beauty - such simplicity - and the fragrances are outstanding..
to me that all means a miracle..something to remind us - that beauty is everywhere and can be seen in everything!!!
This is my entry today for CED - YAYAYAY!!!

Now for the real HAPPY HAPPY NEWS...Leah from Creative Every Day has bestowed this
beautiful little award

because I make her smile/make her day - What an awesome compliment...and truly an award that I will always treasure!!!
I owe Leah so much - because of her GREAT idea of Being Creative Everyday Projects - it has allowed me to come out of my shell more and meet some new people and display my art and given me motivation to move forward instead of finding excuses not to pursue what makes me happy!!! Her art is AMAZING....( I just look and drool)...she has a very inspiring and heartfelt blog...and is just one of the nicest people I have met in my new journey!!
So THANK YOU Leah for being you and for the GREAT award...

The description of this award follows:
Give the award to up to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel so happy about blogland! Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so that they can pass it on. Beware! You may get the award several times!

I do not think I know 10 people - but here is my list of people whose blog really make me happy reading and inspire me in some way:
Anke

Holly
Ang
Kari
Dawn
Amy
Monique

WOW - I do know 10 people - how cool is that!!!!
Check out their blogs - I know you won't be disappointed...they all deserve the award as well as so many others - but I could only pick 10 - so these are my 10 for today!!

SIMPLE PINK ROSE

I found a rose (my favorite flower) and just had to make a digital painting of it.
I am quite proud of myself for the way it turned out....took a few days to create it..and the
results make me very happy!!!
Of course the pink is the color of the week it seems...lol
This is my entry today for CED...

VALENTINES ATC CARD

I was in the mood to create another ATC card and decided to do one for Valentine's.
It is kind of simple but I really like the colors and the simplicity of it...
just playing around with different images and such!!!
I like the hint of the mint green mixed with the pink (of course pink - one of my favs)..
and a simple message.
Makes me smile!!!
This is my entry today for CED.
Have a beautiful weekend!!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

OPEN ORANGE FLOWER

I thought this flower was pretty simple and just dying to be painted...
I do not digitally manipulate photos - I actually use a photo and paint from it...
I use a separate painting program to paint my digital paintings NOT paint shop pro.
Just thought I would throw that in for informational purposes...lol
I like simple flowers - to be honest they are easier to paint...the more complicated the more
complex it becomes for me....I do not use those wacom tablets...have not had the money to buy
one yet...so I have to use my mouse and short cut buttons to do it all...
I like the orange in this one - I thought it might be a poppy but I am not sure!
I like simple backgrounds because that way the flower becomes the focus...
anyway - this is my entry today for CED...
Quite pleased with myself..lol
BTW--thanks for all the comments - they really lift up my spirits and that encourages me
to continue on creating...so you all are my blessing in all of this!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

BABY PINK GERBERA

As you probably already know - if you have been following my blog here
I absolutely love bright colors - and one of my favs is Pink....so that
is what attracted me to a photo with this pink gerbera.
Of course I just had to digitally paint it...
Makes me happy looking at it...so cute...cheerful!!
This is my entry today for CED.
I hope you all have a great thursday!

SNOWMAN - ATC

Mary Ann over at HANDMADE MONDAY...has a challenge/prompt this week and it is:
snowman!!!
So I created this ATC to enter in the challenge (an ATC is an Artist Trading card - if I were to print this out - it is only 2.5x3.5 - tiny)...I am really happy with the way
it turned out....it is a bit bigger then what you see here...(just click on the image if you want to see the actual size) - I love the color combinations of golden yellow and deep red...they
just go together so well...this was so much fun to create...
This is also my entry for CED (create everyday 2008).
Have an excellent tuesday!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!

PLUMERIA - DIGITAL PAINTING

Okay - after a LONG break - I am back to digital painting...something just spark inside me and I decided to paint a bit more now...who knows what will be next.. but today - I painted the above creation....I received a photo from a group I belong to and decided to paint this gorgeous - colorful flower. It is called a plumeria...I have never heard of it before - nor do I recall ever seeing one like it but I just love the colors of it...so I painted it...I really like the way it came out. This will be my entry for CED today..yayayay!!! Also at the end of my entries...you will now see my lil sig that I got from this site:
Live Sig (<---just click) I really like the look of it on my entry...YAY...something else to play with!

25 THINGS I NEVER GET TIRED OF

The above creation was just me playing for no reason...it is not anything in particular - not something I am going to use...just wanted to put a graphic that was colorful and eye catching as a start to this entry...
it is a mix of colors and I used a filter called smelter to manipulate it..
just wanting to learn what each filter does and its effects...I like all the colors..now you see my "scrap" work sort of speak...lol

Of course I was blog hopping as usual - always looking for inspirational blogs and ideas..
and I came across this blog - Jen Lemen
Here she listed 25 things that she never gets tired of - and that sounded like
something I wanted to blog about - so here is my list:

SOUTHWESTERN SUNNY SIDE UP

Ahhhh- I see hearts......I think this one has a bit of a southwestern look to it.
I really love it...... I have no idea how all those hearts arrived but I love what they add.
I like the color combination and the wavy lines...and the layers of images in images.
This one makes me happy....yay!!!
Okay - enough about what I see....what do you see?
This is my entry for CED...(Creative Everyday 2008).
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

PINK AND GREEN KALEIDOSCOPE

I just love the color combinations in this one.....the pink and soft green seem to go
together so well!!!
The image does not remind me of anything in particular but I really like the look.
I think the image looks better bigger...(you can click on it to see for yourself).
Just something easy to create - and fun!!!
This is my entry for CED!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!

TWIRLS IN YELLOWS AND GREENS

I have been playing with some new filters - and I am loving these twirls....
I also like the color combination in this one....hues between yellow and green...really soft,
not vibrant or shocking...I think the twirls are cool....reminds me of doodling like in a notebook
or a scrap piece of paper....
really fun...and something different!!!
This is my next entry for CED.
Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!!

PINK SNOWFLAKE

I am running a bit behind today.....massive headache...I think it is because of the huge
weather change we have had here in Florida.....it went from the high 70's and 80's to 28 degrees.
I love the cold weather because I can breathe easier in it....but it seems that with such a temperature drop and the changes in the atmospheric pressure I always get these dang headaches....I have taken way more then I should have to get rid of it and nothing is helping..(that is how I know it is the weather also)...so I have been resting all day but that is also not helping at all.
So I figured I would get online and post my art before friday comes.
Art Every Day is my motto...lol
So I made the above creation just playing again as usual...and to me it looks like a pink snowflake.. (hence the name).
I really like the vibrant pink it is...where the grey came from is beyond me but I like it all.
I am keeping up with my photo taking....today it was a picture of our little heater...lol..so pathetic looking but it kept the puter room (where we hang out) nice and toasty warm. The heater definitely explains my whole day - stay warm and ignore the headache!
Well my snowflake is my entry today for CED...I hope you all have a great evening.
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

BUBBLES

I just had to play today.....just had to experiment....somehow I have created circles..
but I could not control where they would appear-could not place them where I wanted...
but I could make them more solid looking or more transparent which was fun...
I LOVE the colors....purples and pinks - I am so hooked.
It really is not suppose to be anything but something I played with.
I love to play digitally because you just never know what you might come up with...that is
the best part....I also love digital art because if you do not like something - just delete it..
you do not waste art products which for me, just eats away if I have spent money and waste it.
Living on disability makes you VERY money aware!!! So I try to be careful with
the supplies I do buy!
So I just played and it was wonderful....
I know I mentioned that I signed up for Create Every Day 2008. A year long challenge..
There are no hard and fast rules...just be creative...so I am going to give it a go...
I will probably refer to it as CED so I do not have to keep typing it out.
So far I am on a roll....LOL
I also have started my take a photo a day....have you?
I do not know yet how I am going to show my photos..if on here or another blog or what..
I will keep you all updated!
Have a great Wednesday!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

STARTING OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH PROJECTS

Well - yesterday while I waited for the New Year to arrive - I went blog hopping again.
Mostly to a lot of blogs I already checked out regularly - and then from those I check out
blogs they recommend or mention or have on their blog rolls...always looking
for ideas and inspiration.
Well I truly believe it was destiny that I did it because I went to Ali Edwards blog (if you have not checked out her blog - you should - absolutely awesome!!!) and she was talking about the one
word that would lead her year....well just go to her blog and check it out for yourself...but she
also referred to a project called the 365 day - taking a photo a day... well this just falls right
into one of my goals for 2008...so I am going to give it a try...and of course this also
lines up with my commitment to being Creative EveryDay 2008..it is all falling
into place...so I just know that all this is meant to be.
So check out this great idea...it just might inspire you...I cannot wait!!!!
As for my one word...I will write more about that in my next entry....don't want to over do all
my news in one entry...lol.
So today (yes already) I played in my digital world and this is what I created...

Just playing...but I like the look...and the different variations...
I am still going to do kaleidoscopes...but today I wanted something different, something
new to start off the New Year.
I hope you all had a beautiful New Year's Celebration..here it was just us which was
perfect..we loved it..and brought in the New Year our way...(big smile here).
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!!

PURPLE REALM

My favorite color - PURPLE - I just love it.....I like the hint of orange and the greens
in this one...how I got them - who knows (as usual) but this creation really turned out
nice....I think after this past month of Kaleidoscopes I finally have them down...I am totally
addicted to making them...I think mostly because they are instant gratification and that
is what I need at this point...the longer a project takes the harder it is for me to stay
motivated to finish it....
So I played some more...and this is what happened:

Yes - I used the watercolor filters and played with the settings and this is the result.
I like the brightness of it...it really makes me happy. I know that must sound strange
but if it makes me happy - then I find it easier to share and talk about. (my warp sense of reasoning).
Well - I played out and have watched LOTS of football....and now I think I will have some
coffee and watch the news (I don't know why - but I have always needed to know what
is going on in the world around me).
I think I will enter the watercolor one in MaryAnn's HandMade Monday challenge...YAY!!!
I hope your Sunday is Peaceful.
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!!

SOME PASTELS

Ahhhhh - some soft colors today. I like the combination of the purple - yellow - and greens..
really soft and subtle....they go well together I think.
Soft lines...pleasing to the eyes...but of course - I never leave well enough alone
so I played again:
In the mosaic filter and the above image is what I created....took a bit for this to appear...
it takes some manipulating to get a "similar" looking image in mosaic...I also
lightened the image because I did not want anything dark...so I am happy with the results.

Have been lazy around here.....watching football bowl games and just vegging out.
It has been really nice.
Unfortunately the weather today will be hot and humid and around 84 degrees UGH!!!
Just way too warm for me!
Well I am off to play some more...hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

STRETCHED STAR VARIATIONS

Today I happily created....I seem to be dragging again - just feeling out of sorts...but
I don't feel like I am in such a fog so this is good....
The above image looked like a stretched star to me...(hence the title)..I like the look
though the colors are not as bright as I was hoping for...so I played some more...

So I played with more filters and again played with my favorite mosaic one..
and this is what I created...though again the colors were not bright enough for me..
However I do suggest that you click on the mosaic image because it looks SO MUCH BETTER
in a bigger image...I created more little mosaic pieces in this one...so they look smaller...but
the image looks so much more defined - which I like...
Then of course I still wanted to brighten up the look and this is what happened:
LOVE IT!!!! This one was manipulated with the watercolor filter...I so love
the brightness of the colors....and if you click on the image...it has such a cool watercolor
look to it...really turned out nice...made me very HAPPY!!! This is a good thing!!
Well - this is was...and I thank you for stopping by and Looking...Have a great friday!!!

BUBBLY - PINK - AND VIBRANT

I hope everyone had a FANTASTIC Christmas...mine was marvelous...I received many
surprises and we ate until we could not move....it was all perfect!
Yesterday - we just relaxed from all the build up to actual Christmas...being lazy is a good thing.
I am back to creating...well at least online to show you...for the last two days I have
been working on a few other creations...and I will show you them when they are done.
The above image just fascinated me...the colors is stunning to me...a VERY vibrant pink...
kind of bubbly to me. Again soft lines...I really like it...you can click on the image to see
the actual size...it looks nice bigger.
Of course I played just a little bit more and this is what happened:

Now the center reminded me of two things...one being a flower and the other being
a mandala...I really like it either way....
Both images really surprised me...definite eye catchers.
I think I will submit these to MaryAnn's Handmade Monday Challenge which is COLOR...
(which these are definitely full of color)
Thanks for stopping by and Looking...

EVERCHANGING BLUES

It is finally Christmas Eve and all is quiet...calm...and the perfect day for just
relaxing and doing whatever it is we feel like...
So of course I played for a while in psp and came up with the above creation.
The reason I called it EverChanging Blues..is because if concentrate on one of the green blots
the blue seems to change. Like one of those 3-D dimensional images that you can
see other things in...At least for me....if you click on the image-it will take you a larger version
and then you can try it out...very unique! I like it!
Then just the fun....I played in mosaics and came up with this:
I do not think this one had enough colors in it to really stand out as
a mosaic for me....but I like it...Mosaics just fascinate me.
I hope you have a peaceful Christmas Eve...and if you do not celebrate it
then a peaceful monday...no stress...lots of joy!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

GOALS FOR 2008

Now that the New Year is quickly approaching...I have thought long and hard about
what I would like to set out for 2008.
Not really resolutions...but goals (personal achievements) for myself..(Some Brave Moments)
So Here are my goals for 2008:

GOALS FOR 2008

1- Create some form of ART every day – even WIP is good (at least 3 times a week is my minimum)

2- Go OUT at least once a month OUTSIDE into the real world (off our property)

3- Go OUTSIDE the house at least once a week

4- Organized arts and craft supplies – craft room

5- Take Pictures – lots of pictures – at every opportunity

6- Take time to pray – meditate – breathe – think things through

7- Open an Etsy Shop

8- Make MORE handmade gifts for Christmas 2008 (less store bought)

9- Find SOMETHING positive – a blessing – everyday – write it down (keep track)

10- Live – Love - Laugh

Do You have any personal goals in mind for the new year?...if so I would love to read about it...
Let me know!!!
BTW---I did not write anything about my family, intentionally, because they have been and always will be my number 1 priority.

RED MELODY

Just playing in reds ....really quick and easy....had loads of fun.
I like all the little hearts and stars...seems to be an on going theme...lol
Of course I played some more - tweaked some filters and this was made:

I think if you click on the photos you can see the details better...they look better
larger.
Of course I love the mosaic look.
I know the closer the holidays get - the less people are creating...but it is fun!!!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

ORANGE LAYERS

WOW - orange and lots of it!!! It really fascinates me.
It looks like there are layers of orange coming upwards in this one.
I really like the look and have also noticed that there are A LOT of hearts in this one..
love it!!! I have no idea how I achieved the black outline to some of the orbits
around it but I just think it makes it stand out so much more!

Keeping this entry short...it is about 3:30 in the morning and I am starting to get tired
(this is a good thing) so I think I will stop here.
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

3-D DIMENSIONAL

I know the colors in this one are not bright and eye catching
but I like this one because if you look closely the outside images almost
look like boxes giving it a 3-d dimensional look...
I guess if you click on the image you would be able to see what I am
talking about better.
I really like the look...but how the darker colors came in I have no idea.

I have finally updated my collaborative blog (that I have with my daughter) -
so please feel free to check it out - A MOTHER & DAUGHTER PROSPECTIVE.
This entry is short and sweet...just real tired right now...
Hope your friday is FABULOUS...
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

WAVY FLOWER EFFECTS

Feeling better - not so dragging today (Thank God)...so of course I played a while in
Paint Shop Pro..it was fun (as always) and came up with three creations that make
me feel happy today.
The top one seems almost dreamy to me...I like the soft lines -waviness and it has a
flower look to me..I also like the way the colors work with each other.
So playing with some more filters - this is my next one:

This one I added a watercolor filter to...really looks terrific (to me)
and then of course I had to work with mosaic filters (my favorite) and this next one
popped up:
I am really pleased with the results...really enjoyed creating today...
it relaxed me...and made me feel like I really accomplished something.
Well - I am really pleased with myself - I have been on a roll to blog and create
every day now since the beginning of November...This is a HUGE brave step for
me because it takes A LOT of inner strength for me to share my creations...I am
so in fear of being rejected or someone claiming that what I do is NOT art..
Truly it scares me...but today I am feeling so much more better with it.
So - I hope you all have a BEAUTIFUL thursday - enjoy it all.
Thanks so much for stopping by and Looking!!!

ROSEY HEARTS

Today I just have one creation to show you all....for some reason I have truly
been dragging for the last few days...my body just wants to sleep...which is unusual because
insomnia and I are on a first name basis...so I am just sleeping...hopefully this DRAG feeling
will go away soon...I did get up long enough to create the image above.
I soooo LOVE the colors....what a vibrant color..so bright...really catches the eye.
I also love the little hearts that have shown up.
Again so different from the rest...Love the wavy lines inside and straight lines on the outside.
Lots of fun to create.
I hope you all have a BEAUTIFUL day...
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!!

LILAC COLORS

I really love the color Lilac (so close to my love of purple)...I thought
the above design was more different then the others I have made...
wavy lines.. I think the different hues of green really pop...pretty cool...
of course I never leave well enough alone so I played with more filters and
this is what I came up with:

The greens have been minimalized in this one....but the lilac color grew...
Looks so soft and still has some wavy lines in it...lots of curves...
I like it!!!
Have to get back to wrapping presents and preparing some things to get
mailed...(packages and such).
So much to do....hope you all have a GREAT day!
Thanks for stopping by and Looking!!!

Here are my seven random things about me:

1-I used to play the piano...quite good (from what my teachers said) even got to play at Carnegie Hall...Have not played in eons...I can still read music but cannot play anything by memory...have to study notes...(have been playing since I was 4)
2-I lack SELF - CONFIDENCE big time....have never been able to over come this...I have always been in fear of being rejected or laughed at.
3-I am very laid back...easy going...I have a 60's kind of style about me.
4-I was a cheerleader in grade school/middle school...go figure - for our basketball team...GO TEAM (what happened to that cheerleading body???)
