DID NOT MAKE IT

I must apologize from the bottom of my heart…. the night of November 10th I was feeling really bad – my stomach started cramping and I could not understand why—well that was just the beginning – I was sick to my stomach (throwing up) for over 7 days….I have never been that sick before in my life. I could not even talk or whisper without getting sick to my stomach…and it has taken me until today to sit long enough at my computer to leave a note as to what happened to me. I caught some vicious stomach virus that lasts a good 3-4 weeks…it takes what seems forever for your stomach to stop cramping etc…every muscle in my body still hurts from it all.

Thank God I can finally sit up for a bit..and check on my emails and update the blog etc….I truly did not think I would be back to this point before the new year.

Well on to better and brighter things….the above flower is one that I digitally painted before I got sick….I love the color purple…I really do not like the white edging on the flower – I will have to work on that…. Well I did not make it the whole month of November for NABLOPOMO but there is always next year…I also wanted to THANK YOU ALL who sent me kind messages and such while I was missing…I so appreciate all the good thoughts and prayers…slowly but surely I am getting there.

I hope that December is just as creative as November was for you all….I am hoping it is for me…Thanks for stopping by..I so appreciate the company.

FREE FLOWING

I was visiting blogs and through Diane M. McKnight’s blog – She mentioned a create your own site that sounded like fun called Flame Painter…I went to go play..!!!

So I played and the above is just letting things flow and I love love love it…it really gives one a sense of freedom and just flowing away…it is NOTHING fancy or inspiring…but made me feel dreamy and no pressure…so that was nice…my internet connection is still iffy minute to minute so I wanted to upload something that I created but also quick and fun!! I must go back to the site and play some more!

The dsl company said by Thursday all this internet garbage would be resolved – I so hope so…because this rushing and hoping that I stay on long enough to do anything is driving me crazy.

Just as a side note – the weather in Florida is AWESOME – it was quite cool…(sweater weather) and today it is 78 degrees and the bluest blue skies I have ever seen in a long time. The kind of day to sit at the beach to read or just listen to the ocean ….dreamy!!

Today is day 10 of my double challenge month…loving it!!!

Yes I am stuck on summer graphics pretty much…but I really like approaching making ATC cards like just something to play with and put together…seems to make things easier for me. I really like all the lil whimsy elements in this one…like the lil crab and the pink fishy…even the kite…it is almost summer in the sunshine state 12 months a year but the reality the beach is only worth going to from April to September – that is our summer…otherwise the water is just too darn cold.

Anyway – our internet has been going in and out since last night even more so I wanted to get this out now before I no longer can get on…I promise as soon as my internet connection is more stable I will be visiting more…right now it is very frustrating getting thrown off constantly and waiting hours to get back on.

GONE FISHING

YAY…playing some more with graphics and this is what I came up with…..I love the frog and the lil blue fish…
I love to fish so this is right up my alley…lol…it makes me smile looking at the frog’s face…it seems that fishing agrees with him also.

This is Day 8 of my double month challenge…I think both NABLOPOMO and ART EVERY DAY MONTH are going great. At least I am having fun…ideas are still flowing…so that is all I can ask for.

PRETTY IN PURPLE

Today I thought I would share a new digital painting I did recently…I forgot the name of this gorgeous flower but anything in purple I think looks marvelous (can you tell it is my favorite color…lol)

It took me a couple of weeks to complete this one – the veins are more detailed and i like the outer edges getting lighter. I painted this from a photo that a friend of mine sent me…she knows I love painting simple yet beautiful flowers…they just make me happy.

As a side note – the internet has not gone off in 24 hours so this is a beautiful thing also…lol.This is day 7 of my double challenge month – YAY!!!

BEACH GIRL

Again playing around with some fun graphics and I made this ATC card of a girl on the beach…I thought it was cute..I even managed to stick a lil blue fishy in the water…lol.

I am still having issues with getting and staying on the internet so please bare with me…AT&T are really trying this time to resolve things…it has been WAR..and now they are being very nice…a small example of the insanity I spend over 5 hours on the phone yesterday trying to resolve issues…OMG..I am not doing that again!

PUMPKIN GIRL

Yes more graphics to play with – more fun to be had…and another ATC card I have played with.

I love the girl’s eyes…sort of looking down at the cat… I am sure I could do more with this ATC but I was just playing with graphics that I did not use last year and wanted to see what I could do….I feel kind of rusty because I really have not made any ATC cards since last year…so I am trying to get back into the swing of things.

We have been having some major internet connection problems…We belong to AT&T for our dsl connection and for the last week at least we have had some major issues…so today I was told that the dsl is OUT…finished…done…fried…over with…GEEZ – we had to go out and buy another one. Those darn things are EXPENSIVE…I am not a happy camper about spending more money on “unexpected expenses” but it seems to be on going here the last month or so.

Obviously all things are working since I was able to upload my newest creation and write in my blog…but now I have a headache stressing over this garbage. My internet connection is the ONLY connection I have to the outside world—since I am homebound – so no internet makes me a bit nuts…LOL.

TERROR HALLOWEEN

Today is day 4 of my double November challenges…loving it!!!

I decided to play some more with ATC’s … using graphics (I did not create the individual graphics on this ATC card) I put the graphics together to create the ATC card—..I am really having fun with it all…I worked on some Halloween ones last night – so this is one of them….I think the reaper is kinda cute in his own warped way….LOL.

I also love the lil owl I have on the gravestone…cute!!!!
I am really enjoying blog hopping to other blogs participating in the AEDM challenge – there is so much creativity out there..so much inspiration – my mind is on overload…LOL!!!

PINK AND FLOWERY

Here is a digital painting I did from a photo a friend sent to me….to me it feels light and airy…I like that…I know I have a long way to go in digital painting but I am liking the process of growing and learning as I do each one. Of course it does not hurt that pink is one of my favorite colors…LOL.

Today is day 3 of my two November challenges…so far so good…I think I am getting the hang of it…I am enjoying the completion of my art work..right now I think that is the only thing that is keeping me energized…hmmm – immediate gratification works for me…lol.

NaBloPoMo and Create Art

OH YEA BABY – it is that time of year – write every day for a month or create something every day for a month—HOW EXCITING…..I have been so lame to not keep up with my blog – I think my enthusiasm and excitement for it died down incredibly.

But I am feeling re-energized right now so I am going to see how this will go….this is my third year of participating in both NABLOPOMO and CREATE ART EVERYDAY.

A ROSE IS A ROSE

As usual I am behind in my blogging but the good news about that is I am still creating – I am still playing with digital painting, and I am still creating zandoodles (previously known as zentangles)…and I am finding all of it very therapeutic – so I may not show up online too much but I am happy in my little corner just creating and healing and feeling renewed…right now in my life these are all beautiful things.

The rose above is a rose my daughter took a picture of from my garden – it is really wide open – it only lasted a couple of days afterwards….but I just had to paint it – the colors just caught my eyes and roses makes me feel special…unfortunately I could not fix the fuzziness too much when I went to fit in for uploading but I think you get the gist…..This is my submission this week to CED (creative everyday)

Here is the newest of my creations - a friend sent me this beautiful flower
and I just loved the colors in it. So of course I just had to digitally paint it and
add it to my collection.
I really like the way it came out - feels so summery and happy!!!
The colors just grab me - I love it!!

My Friend Bunnie sent me this picture because she wanted

RECTANGLE ZENTANGLE

Sorry about the very grainy and blurry photo - but that is the best I could do right now in
my puter room - there is no light - it is driving me nuts.....
anyway - I just wanted to try out a zentangle in the shape of a rectangle - It is
different from my usual ones - always trying something new...!
I think tho that I do prefer the circle (mandalas) shape and the hand shape...
I feel more creative with those shapes.But the one above was fun to make - and got me thinking of other shapes and such
so it was a successful creative session for me.

BIG YELLOW ROSE

WOW - talk about falling off the face of the planet - no I didn't but I sure
disappear for long periods of time - I am sorry....
I thought I would upload a digital painting I recently completed...the good
news is I have stayed somewhat creative - it is very restrictive due to construction
happening at the old homestead - hopefully things will settle out soon...
all of my art supplies are packed away - our new computer/craft room is not ready
yet to move into.Anyway - in between the chaos I created this rose which I am really pleased
with - very soft to me and I love the yellow in it!
It took me several long weeks to complete it - I have no idea why but I
am glad it is done and I can finally share it.

TWIN MANDALAS-ZENTANGLES

TWIN MANDALAS - the mandala on the right is one that I did last november--
finally I finished the one of the left.
I think they look cool together.
I am so hooked on doing these zentangles-mandalas...it is so easy to just sit back and put
my art journal on my lap and doodle away.
I am a bit behind with my once a week checking in with what creation I am working on...
I am just lazy lately---nothing more....
but hopefully I can get out of this slump and keep moving forward...
So the twin zentangle-mandalas are my newest creation...and hopefully
just the beginning of so many more!
Now I want to get color markers to try that - I think color would add a whole different
look to it all....(maybe)!

BUNCHED ZENTANGLE

More Zentangles - I just wanted to "experiment" with zentangles intentionally started
a certain way - the outline.......I like the way it turned out - not as much
a surprise to me the way it came together because it was planned---do you know
what I mean?
The piece above was not formed by just free flowing lines and then me looking
at it to see what shapes I notice and how to start---this one was planned...and
it took me longer to do - hmmmmm---I wonder if that is connected in some way.
I tried to trim off the photo of all the extra in it - so that you can get a close look
at the piece but my psp kept crashing (which is typical of windows vista)..but hopefully
you can see all you want of it.
Well - off to doodle some more - and how are your creative juices doing?

BEING CREATIVE IN 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE--
Since the every day challenge - I took a break to see in which direction I wanted
to go creatively.
For now I love doing these zentangles - I am hooked - and it is so easy to pick up and do
a bit and put down - but I do have other plans floating around - we will see where
it takes me - if anything becomes definite I will let you all in....

DETAILED ZENTANGLES - LAST DAY

I MADE IT!!!!
A whole month of creating and writing about it - WOW!!!
This really has been quite theraputic for me - I feel like I have accomplished
something positive and good. For me - that is major!!
I have met some awesome peeps during this past month--absolutely
supportive and just plain nice - WOW - I am blessed.
I plan on continuing my zentangle projects and my hand project--so keep on
coming back and take a peek what I am up to--
you might be surprised.....lol.
Here a few pics of my most recent creations:

This one-to me-looks like a ribbon that has different ornaments or
such hanging from it - I like the way it turned out--
I think one of the ornaments is looking at me!!

This is my newest hand project zentangle--much more detailed--
took me a bit longer to complete but to me worth it.
I thought it turned out really nice - just staring at it from a bit of a distance
and the coolest images come to life.
The pic below is a closer look at some of the details--

ZENTANGLE-PRACTICE SAMPLE

WOW - tomorrow is the last day of AEDM and NABLOPOMO....I cannot believe
that a whole month has gone by so quickly---it has been an amazing month-
Today I am going to show you one of the zentangles that I did for practice--trying to
figure out how I was going to do things and such...so here is my practice one:

It is not anything fancy - I just wanted to see what different line doodles would
look like ---everything is kind of giant in size but at least you can see where
I started from and where it has taken me---
tomorrow I will be uploading a hand zentangle that I think looks awesome--
it is much more detailed -
NOW---I have been asked some questions so I thought I would answer them
here and now---I did not take lessons to learn about zentangles - I saw
some examples and read about it being a new artform and I was instantly hooked.
I am teaching myself through trial and error - there really is no wrong way because
it is just doodling - and art is so open to interpretation--it can be anyway you want.
I did not buy anything to do them--I have a fine point sharpie marker/pen that does
not bleed through the paper and that is it....no special equipment - actually I think
the practice one above was partly done with a gel black pen - until I found my
sharpie--so there truly is nothing special to buy.
I have always enjoyed doodling - like when you are talking on the phone
and you just start to doodle and make shapes and such - well that is where I
started from and I am slowly expanding what I can do.
I made this process easy since it is all new--I just wanted to have fun -
I am kind of glad I did not take lessons or anything because I feel
like there are no rules or boundaries and that I like~~

MANDALA 1128

It is extremely chilly here - so cold that we have space heaters on -
that is cold for Florida.
As soon as I am done uploading my newest art piece - I plan on going back
to my recliner and snuggling with the dogs and watching some great
college football -
Here is my first true mandala - in black and white!

I like the way this one came out - love the look of black and white--
still learning - trial by error - but really am enjoying myself.
You can never go wrong doodling - you just have to feel comfortable with
what you are doodling--if it feels good then it is right.

ZENTANGLE HAND PROJECT1125

Finally - my daughter uploaded the pics of the zentangles I have been doing--
The one I am going to show you is the first hand project one. Now that I am looking
at it - it does not look as sharp as I thought but it is my first try at this zentangle artform
so - the more I do - the better things will get--

room - but I think you get the idea of it all -

What is Zentangle?
Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being. Zentangle is enjoyed by a wide range of skills and ages and is used in many fields of interest.

What is a Zentangle? In a word, a doodle. A structured, contained doodle. The term 'Zentangle' was invented by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas when, one day, Maria described her experience, as she created her art, as feeling timeless, free and engendering a sense of deep well-being'. Rick recognised that she was in a meditative state and so Zentangles were born.

Well that is a quick explanation of it - the hand project and zentangle artform really are fun..
I can tell by each mini project I do - my style is getting a bit sharper and more

JOY XMAS TREE - ATC CARD

Today has been a bit busy with getting some things ready for Thanksgiving.
It is just going to be my hunnie and our daughter and myself - very peaceful
but we love the put on a spread - LOL.
I am still working on some zentangles and mandalas....I am thoroughly
enjoying the process - and doing something so new and different is
really making me feel good.
My daughter is off from school starting today (I thought it was yesterday) so she
said she would do all the pics and upload everything for me - so

I LOVE SNOW - ATC CARD

Well - since yesterday - I have been consumed with the hand project-mandala-zentangle
creative outlets...just cannot stop.
I know I promised you all some pictures - and I promise they are coming - I have to have
my daughter help me with taking the pics - but all day yesterday she was
studying for a math exam which is much more important - so after school today she
should be free.
I am really enjoying just free flowing geometric shapes and such inside a hand or mandala
or just a flowing line of circles and lines etc--all in black and white - I think it looks
sharp and so interesting.
Well now you know what I am doing with my time - I did manage to create
another cute ATC card - here is my newest:

Sort of taken from the same theme as yesterday - this time tho
using a snowman - a pretty simple card but I do like the way
it turned out - looking at it makes me smile--
I really love the little snowballs - lol.

I LOVE WINTER - ATC CARD

WOW - today I am really late getting this entry up---

believe it or not I have been creating -
I have met this lovely artist Julie Jordan Scott through AEDM this month who
has been super supportive of me, through her sweet comments-
She is doing a project she calls hands-decorating an outline of her hand.
Well I am totally intrigued over this...so I just spent the
majority of the day decorating my hand with geometric shapes and lines and such.
I am really enjoying myself. Well her hand and the geometric shapes are
really inspiring me to try this new stuff.....
I have so many ideas for decorating hands - so I started. I still have to take a pic
and upload it in order to show you all...I think it is awesome!!
So here is my newest ATC card:

I absolutely love penguins - to me they are just too cute!
I used to deal with the snow of winter for the first half of my life---
but Thank God I live in the sunshine state - because after
going to college in Buffalo - I just could not take much more snow--LOL!
Some visitors have left comments about ATC cards (artist trading cards)-
so here it what they are:
they are SMALL pieces of art that are the size of 2.5x3.5.
They are NEVER sold - they are exchanged (traded). Small canvases of collages--anything
your heart desires - any media you want to use.
There are only two rules really - the size and never sold - the rest is up to your
imagination. They are about the size of a business card--that is it--
my ATC cards look huge but if it was printed out it would only be the size of a business card
that is why I love them - they are only restricted by your own creativeness - nothing more!

WOW - I just realized that the holidays are flying by so soon - geez
scares me to death that the end of the year is not so far away-
But I will admit that this time of year is my favorite - love the decorations
and music and the feeling of giving in the air--it is wonderful!

I thought it was a bit whimsical/cutsey - something fun to start

SAIL AWAY - ATC CARD

WOW - it is the 18th day of AEDM and NABLOPOMO - and so far
things are moving forward - this is a good thing.
I am absolutely loving, seeing how others are doing with the
challenge this month - so many BEAUTIFUL and CREATIVE people..
I am in awe of their art. Very Inspiring!!

This one reminds me of sailing when I was a kid with
my dad. We had a little sail boat - yellow and baby blue...so much fun
and lots of great memories - so here is my ATC card in dedication to those
wonderful childhood times. I can just hear those seagulls and waves.

Another beautiful day here - before I go outside
and breathe in some fresh air and just enjoy it all - I
thought I would upload my newest ATC card for today.
Here it is:

A bit of a different rendition then my last one - I love the fall
and the beautiful colorful leaves - so I just had to do
another one with apples...LOL.
I can close my eyes and remember raking under the big trees
in our yard and then taking a break while eating an apple under the shade
and cool breezes...now that is a perfect moment!

The Atlantis Space Shuttle went up today - what a beautiful sight!
Being able to watch from my front yard, space ships going up, is one of the
reasons that I love living in the sunshine state!
In honor of the beautiful skies we are blessed to have today and the gorgeous weather
I put together this newest ATC card:

It really is a perfect day to go kite flying - slightest breeze and the bluest skies.
We are over halfway through this month of creating art every day and writing an entry
every day - WOW - time is flying by as I have some fun!

great football games going on.

FRIDAY THE 13TH - ATC CARD

Happy Friday The 13th!
WOW - some peeps really go bonkers over that date - here it is just
another day in the neighborhood - lol.
I will say that it is quite chilly today - feeling good - hope it lasts.
I think the skies are actually looking a more vibrant blue then I have
seen in a very long time!
I was playing with more elements and created this card - nothing
really special - just putting things together to see what I get...
and I thought - wow - try something for this special friday - lol and
here it is:

Well now that I think about it - friday the 13th and the above card
really do go together - lol.
I particularly like this one because of the colors - purple is my passion.
I just love the color - now purple gives me energy and makes things happy
for me - strange but true!
I also love her big round eyes - windows to the soul - so pretty....
So this is my little contribution to the 13th with a black cat and
all that stuff - lol -

WOW - what a change in the weather from yesterday to today.
It is 11 in the morning and it is only 56 degrees outside - for
the sunshine state - that is CHILLY.
It feels good - makes breathing so much more easier - but

BELIEVE IN ANGELS - ATC CARD

I am getting a very late start today - just feeling overly exhausted - like I have not slept
in months - must be the weather changing - we are suppose to get chilly
tonight in the sunshine state - I am looking forward to that -
I breathe so much better in cooler weather - feels like weights are off

It is the perfect time to create (at least for me)...Here is an ATC card
that I was playing around with some elements that I was trying out.

So Here is a bit of a take off on angels - I just noticed that some
of the star angel wings look blurry and I have no idea
how that happen--well I think it looks ok for playing around
with new elements and such - feeling spring like!!

SPRINGTIME - ATC CARD

This next ATC card is quite bright in color - can you tell I like the color pink? LOL
The colors make me feel like spring time - just when everything is blooming,
and the birds are singing along.
Just as a side note - it is day 10 of AEDM and NABLOPOMO..time is just
flying by - I think the most difficult part of participating in anything
for 30 straight days is keeping the creative ideas flowing....
I am no expert in it - wish I had the answers on how to keep things
flowing along - but when things do keep going - I find I am
happiest because I am doing something to move my art forward.
I am probably not making much sense but hopefully you get the idea.

HARVESTING SUNFLOWERS - ATC CARDS

I spent the weekend creating ATC cards - collecting elements - trying
to come up with ideas...hopefully everyone will enjoy them.
Of course I could only do this in between football games -
what a crazy weekend of games.
So Here is my newest:

I like fall colors - to me they are very soothing.
Sunflowers are one of my most favorite flowers--I love how they
always face the sun and get so big.
Well if I suddenly disappear - do not fear - it is just Tropical Storm Ida
hitting up our state...I do not think we will get much more
then rain and wind - but you never know!

SPLASH - ATC CARD

Well for today I needed a change - I did not want to stick to one form of
creativity--I like playing around with digital anything that I can create - so
I decided to play with ATC cards (Artist Trading Cards). Now I am
sure that everyone has heard about them but in case you have not
they are small "canvases" of artwork (anything) the size of 2.5 x 3.5.
Very small and fun--you can do a million things with them - that is why I like
them - there is no limit--the possibilities are amazing!
So I did this one for today -

I am so loving the bright vibrant colors - just makes me want
to go to the beach--LOL.
I do try to keep my ATC cards simple - little stories-easy pictures..
I think sometimes you can put too much and lose anything you are
trying to express! (just my opinion)
I also wanted to say - THANKS SO MUCH - for all the feedback in the comment
section --I am touched by all the support and encouragement - again Thanks!

YELLOW NARCISUSS

Yes I know - I have painted another yellow flower but it seems I am attracted to
very bright and vibrant colors and I cannot help myself - LOL.
Yellow is a color that makes people happy (whether they know it or not)....it
also gives off or makes one feel very energetic - so perhaps that
is why I am prone to painting more yellow flowers then other colors...hmmm!
Well it is Day 4 and here is my painting for today-

This is a yellow Narcisuss..almost looks like a daffodil--
I like finding pictures that have a bright subject and the background
is darker--makes those beautiful colors just stand out!!
Anyway--I want to THANK all you wonderful visitors for stopping by-

PINK CHAMPAGNE

I am starting to meet so many lovely people through AEDM. Makes me feel really positive about doing these challenges. It is so easy for someone like me, who suffers from severe depression, to get overwhelmed easily - but this is my third year participating in AEDM and this year seems to be filled with more people who reach out to others. The creativity that I have noticed so far just amazes me..I am in awe~!~ Truly I would love a tenth of the talent that I have seen - just amazing. Here is my painting for today: Someone told me it was called "Pink Champagne". I like the name. I also love the pink in it - bright and fun. I am pretty happy with the results - do not worry - I will not be just painting all month - I am going to mix it up a bit because I do not want to feel pressured or bored with only creating one way... TWO-THIRTY DAY CHALLENGES

WOW - October just flew by me - I was a bit busy and it took off.

I was not really ready for November to start but here we go.
November is both Art Every Day Month and National Blog Posting Month...
Both are 30 day commitments sort of speak - of course rules were made
to be broken - but the gist is that you complete these projects by participating every
day for one month...last year I was able to do it - and I am going to try again this year.
I am kind of "cheating" here because I am going to use my art
every day as my post for blogging every day - kind of kill two birds with one stone--LOL.
Here is a flower that I digitally painted that I thought I would start off with.....

A yellow hibiscus - I like the way it turned out - tho it is kind of
difficult to see the stamen on it but in general - it came out nice.
So here's to a month of creativity and blogging...

Here is a digital painting that I recently completed - it took me several weeks but I think
it turned out fairly well - I love doing paintings of nature - the colors to me are
always brighter and scream energy!
Sunflowers always made me smile seeing them looking at the sun and just growing.
To me, nature is beauty!

VIOLETS

Slowly but surely I am getting in grove of digital painting again....this time around it
seems to be taking longer for me to complete a painting but I am not pushing myself.
This is a violet - I really like the blue/purplish color it has. The picture is a lot sharper
in my file - but once uploaded it looks blurry - sheesh!

So how do you get yourself into the grove after not being creative for a period of time?
Would love to know how others have dealt with it!
Well again - I think I will enter this one in Creative Everyday...it is nice getting back into the swing of things~!~

I am so not into all the hustle and bustle - but I love having any kind of Christmas
tree up at my house (this year we have a small one)...and seeing gifts under it for others...

ATC-POLAR BEAR SKATING - FINISHED AEDM

YES YES YES YES!!!!
I did it - I created lil bits of art every day for the month of November!!
I cannot believe I actually made it -
and the great part is that the art just flowed...there was NOT one day where I was
stuck over something to create - everything just flowed..came together and to be
honest - I really love each and every piece of ATC cards that I made...
30 days 30 ATCS!

I am so proud of me - It was a great challenge for me - and it helped me to break
through A LOT of self doubt that I had. I am also surprised that I created only
ATC cards - it was not my intention to stick to one medium - one form of artwork - but
I did - because the ideas were just flowing - and coming to mind so easily!!
I am THRILLED!!!

The above ATC I just loved - polar bears remind me of coca cola (one of my favorite drinks)
and the skating just cracks me up.

I thank you all for your support and encouraging comments - you have no idea how much
your support help to guide me through this month of challenge!
I so appreciate your kindness!

When I saw this snowman - with the quirky look on its face - I just knew
I had to make an ATC card out of it...nothing fancy...just enough
to show off the snowman and its stars.
Of course I like it first and foremost because it is purple - now how cool is that.

The little hearts says "Love Never Melts".
I think they are adorable - I love the floating flowers...I wanted to use flowers instead

I found this penguin and thought it was just too cute - so I had to make it into
an ATC card....the hearts are kind of whimsy looking....but I really like
his scarf.

Again - no quotes or anything - so that it can be used for whatever occasion comes up.
Personally I am starting to like it that way - saves a lot of time - and trying to match up
words is just not as easy as you might think.

Now this is hardy snowman - I so love the sweater that he has on.
I created this one as part of a series with the one below....again the snowflakes are
too cute, along with the mittens....
No quotes or sayings on it....just ATC's that you can decide in your head what it means or
what it is saying to you.

Sometimes adding text to ATC's is forcing an identity to it that perhaps other
people do not see or feel about it.
Usually I use quotes or sayings when a theme is already set in my mind about what
I am creating!

Today (Monday) it seems I am just running late trying to get everything posted.
Woke up with a nasty migraine headache and just slept the time away...my head would not

Here is yet another fall/autumn ATC card that I created....this one again is pretty simple.
I like it because it used country like elements that gives it
a home feel for me....especially the hearts at the top and the girl.

I also seem to be leaning towards the warm colors - most likely because of the time of year.
I only have one week left to Art Every Day Month.....
this year really has flowed for me....no straining to try and figure out what to do or what
to create - just going with the flow and it has really worked out.

ATC-PRIMP OF POODLE

I created this ATC just experimenting with different elements again....just wanted to keep
things simple and see what comes up.
I love the poodle - just so stuck on itself....
and I like the little jewels....I think it is the other colors
I am still trying to figure out if I like or not.
But I created it so I am showing it.

I think the difference between this year creating every day and last year is that
this year I am allowing myself to just test things out...that it does not have to be perfect.
It does not have to follow any particular theme...that I can just let things
flow and experiment with different things and it is all good...there are no
wrongs or mistakes - just creative waves....

Just having fun - putting together another Snow Girl. I seem to be on an ATC kick lately - just in case you have not noticed....I think I am finally getting the hang of them. Making this ATC card seemed especially appropriate since
today in Florida, we woke up to 39 degrees outside (quite cold for here).
No quotes on this one either - I just like the mix of colors - like aqua snowflakes and pink ones...actually the snowflakes are just too cute!

This one was fun - I think it would make a cute Christmas card - but it is so small.

This ATC makes me think about when I was a little girl - just frilly and whimsy.
Having your best friend and doing things together!
This one really just flowed...I started with the words "best friends" and this is
the ATC card I came up with.
I really like the way it came out...I also like the fun colors....bright and cheery.

ATC-HEARD THE OWL

Here is another fall type ATC I created....I got the title from a very
old movie I remember seeing on TV when I was growing up.
The quote on the card was also the name of the movie.
The summary of the movie was about - a man who went to teach (I think)
in some remote little town in Alaska.
He was not really accepted at first - then slowly became part of the community...
and one of the beliefs of these people (of Indian culture) is that when it is
your time - you can hear the Owl call your name. That is when you know your time has come.

The movie captured my interest and I have always remembered the story...so
this card is about that movie!

Here is another whimsical ATC that I played around with. I really like the
different patterns used on the images...it makes them fun!
No Quotes - no special meaning - just having fun putting different elements
together and seeing what comes up.

The butterflies are just too cute - even the sun has polka dots.
I like doing these simple ATC's because it seems I am not feeling the pressure
of having to create something each and every time with some deep meaning!

ATC - AUTUMN TREE

As I think I said previously here is another autumn ATC that I had created.
I like this one because again it is simple and when I think of fall I truly think of rakes and how many weekends my brother and I spent raking leaves and leaves and leaves - we could not stand it...
but I also got a chance to collect all the brightly colored leaves I wanted...
and I remember always feeling the texture....and the veins that went through them...
also jumping in a pile of leaves was the ultimate in fun!

I seem to be running behind again -yesterday's entry says sunday but it is suppose to say
Saturday - I guess I blogged too late - today's ATC is for Sunday!!

Another ATC created without using any quotes.....I really like this one...
love the pink hues....and the crown on the snowgirl.
I like the idea that it is simple....I can always add a quote or wording
to it at a later time if I find an occasion to. Love the flowers and the little hearts!
It is over cute...lol.
Pink to me - is a happy color!

I have not seen a snowman in over 20 years - so this is my version and probably as
close as I will ever get again to any snowperson...lol!

ATC-RAINY DAY DUCK

Again - I feel like I am running late - The days seem to be flying by.
The above is an ATC card I made but I have kept it simple..no quotes, no special meaning
behind it. I did this so I could use it for any occasion that may come up...sounds strange yes
but sometimes - things just do not fit any special quote or meaning.

I so love the ducky - and I also love the soft colors - kind of pastels in it.
I made a couple of cards like this....Just enjoying the process of putting them together
but not labeling them anything quite yet...maybe one day I will but not right now!

DREAMBOARD-BREAKING BOUNDARIES

My friend ScaredSuzie turned me onto creating dreamboards - there is a topic that is chosen and then you create a dreamboard (out of any materials - in any shape or form) expressing what that topic means to you....This is my first participation - and I really was hit by the topic
"BREAKING BOUNDARIES".
The words in red are the things that I have been facing in the last 6 months or so...
I think there are many boundaries holding my true self down and this topic really called out to me to participate...NOW the projects are not based on ART rather on self-expression.
This topic really flowed for me!

I am also going to use this for my entry today (wednesday) for AEDM...I do not want to burn out trying to create something that is not flowing!!

I am still running behind - seems like I am getting to everything later and later.
That is what happens when you have to share your computer with your hunnie!

Well the card above is my rendition of how someone feels when there is a good bye involved with someone they love!
I love the gothic outfit the girl is wearing -just reminds me of the young people I see around.
I like the way it turned out. Even tho it is a sad topic - it makes me feel like I have delivered a message through my art...that is what I am trying to achieve.
I think black and red are very dramatic colors when used together.
Both colors invoke strong emotions on their own - and together they are dynamite!

Did you ever have those moments that made you truly sad when you had to
say good bye to someone who meant something to you?

ATC-SECOND SPRING

It is still monday here - I am running behind everything now -darn it!!!
Here is another autumn ATC card I made - I think I am hooked on the warm colors.
I like the quote on this one - Autumn is a second spring with every flower a leaf..how very cool and true!
I do not think the scarecrow will scare away anything - but she is cute - yes it is a girl!!!

I just love fall but from I heard from friends living up north - they are just praying for no major snow before December...some have already gotten some snow - that is so crazy!!!
It is still hurricane season here - tho I think the season has died down - yes I know about palermo but that did not affect Florida - just made bigger waves here.

ATC-UNDER THE SEA

WOW - I am so far behind - I guess my body needed a break on sunday because I was out for the majority of the day!
Then my hunnie got on my puter and spent the whole day on it - what a pain!
So today is going to have two entries - one now one later!
The above is called - under the sea....yes I know not truly original but good enough for me!
I kept it simple - and in this one I only used metal elements to put it together...I thought
it would be a different look...just experimenting.
I so love sea horses - they are just the coolest to watch - and the male of the species are the ones that give birth....what an interesting concept...lol!

I like the look of the metal - but I do not know how much I would really use it...but I am totally fascinated by life under the sea...we used to have several fish tanks in our house - and plan on restarting them...I so love watching fish!
Did you know that watching fish is theraputic...it is a natural way to calm down, bring your blood pressure down, to make your heart stop beating so hard - to give your mind a peaceful feeling!
Now how cool is that!

ATC-ENRICH MY SOUL

Today I am feeling spiritual - feels good - hence the ATC card I created.
Believe it or not - it just came to me - might look kind of thrown together - but actually
I spent a lot of time putting it together- putting things on then off then on then off...drove myself
nuts them I just stopped forcing myself to get it done and the above is what came to me.
I like it - I have been taking a course/class in soul coaching - so I think that is where
the spirituality has come in.
I think in some ways - we are all searching how to enrich our souls, our hearts, our lives..
it is just the road we take that is different - but the longing for it is the same!

I so love her blue hair - her look is almost mysterious - yet daring!!

ATC - FALL BIRD

This ATC card is in honor of Autumn season - I love the warm colors in it -
I am still trying to get my fill of colorful leaves but it seems that the fall is speeding by
everyone this year! How crazy!!!
I really like the little bird - tho he seems to be a bit oversized for that tree but I left him
that way - because the birds are the only ones that are still around from the fall - because the leaves came and went too quickly.
There just seems to be no time to enjoy those beautiful leaves!
Well I wanted to put it down in art so this is one of the cards I have made in dedication to the fall.
There should be a few more coming -

Today I created a DREAM card. I so love these hugware fairies...and the way she looked

ATC-LITTLE RAIN MUST FALL

Look at those huge eyes - I think I have a thing about eyes.
This one makes me happy - I love the ducks under the umbrella with her - just too cute!
Even tho it is raining in this ATC - it still makes me feel good and happy - I like the soft
colors in it... it just seems soft on the eyes to look at.
Tho I have no idea where she got green hair from - but it works for her - LOL

DAY OF THE DEAD

Yes - I am a few days late with this specific ATC - but better late then never I say!!!
This is my ATC to honor La Dia de las muertas. In the catholic church it is known as
All Saints Day....but being of spanish heritage I so much prefer Las Muertas.
It is a beautiful way to honor those we love by celebrating a day to welcome their spirit home among their loved ones!! TONS of preparations go on - great food - great music...you get the idea I am sure!
So this card is my way of celebrating the day! At least it is my version!
Tho he does look really scared...lol!

Okay - I thought I would answer a few questions here about my ATC cards....
The size is 2.5 x 3.5 - very small - I create my cards digitally because for me - it gives me much more freedom - and flexibility!
The images I use I have collected from groups I am in, all over the internet, etc...I did not create the images themselves - I just use several different images and put them together like a collage (which is the basis behind ATC cards-mini collage art works)

Yes - I believe this is another witchy ATC but I really love the eyes and the colors - so I
went with the flow - it all came together really easy and you are seeing the results.
The poor little spider in the corner has the saddest eyes I have ever seen.
The bats give it that kind of scary touch without going over the edge for me...lol

Art Every Day Month

Yes I know that Halloween was yesterday - but this one reminds me more of autumn then
Halloween - I know it is simple but I wanted to use it for my official start to Art Every Day Month. This is a month that HOPEFULLY I will create a piece of art each day. I want to push my creativity to the next level - I want to see what I can come up with...at least that is my plan for now!
I am NOT going to pressure myself into anything for now - that is how I overloaded earlier this year - I am going to take my creative moments as they come - one step at a time.
I really like the warm colors in this one - also her face looks so innocent!

Yes - another ATC creation. I like this, tho I am so not a fan of green (everything in our house growing up was in green - UGH!!) but I like the greens in this.
The dark side lady looks like she is just floating in for the moment - kind of halloweenish.

Still working on the hibiscus digital painting - it is just not moving along for me - I have no idea
why because I have done many paintings and none have taken this long...geez!!

CRAFT--CANDY KISS ROSE

I thought I would list another craft idea - we used to do this craft at my daycare with the
kids - for Mother's Day...very easy...we used rose colored cellophane so that the kisses really
did look like roses...yellow or red are best - white does not look as good (at least to me)...
Give it a try -

Candy Kiss Roses

For each flower:
2 kisses
1 square colored plastic wrap/cellophane
Wire
Floral tape

Put the two kisses together with flat bottoms touching. Put tip of one kiss in the center of the square of wrap and pull wrap down around the kisses. Put a wire up next to the kisses. Pull the wrap down over part of the wire and wrap floral tape around starting at the tip of the bottom kiss. Tape securely. Once you make the first one or two and get the technique down they go very quickly. These make a wonderful bouquet.

**side note** the square of wrap/cellophane has to be big enough so that when you cover both kisses it covers them entirely -

I am hoping to take some pics of life around the ol' homestead - but convincing my head of doing that seems to be a major undertaking -

ATC-LOVE

This is one of the ATC cards I created a while back - just trying to play without any stress or obligation sort of speak.
Kind of simple but to be honest - sometimes I really like simple.
Right now I am digitally painting another beautiful flower but it seems to be going very slow - so I had to walk away from it for a while before I get frustrated.
I think I have definitely discovered that I always need instant gratification and results when I create or play in creating...well that is a good step forward.
I think that is why I love my digital camera - instant results - instead of having to wait to see what the pictures might look like....I guess I have no patience that way.
What has creating helped you discover about yourself?
I will definitely include the above in my entry to today's CED ... it is always good to create!

COLORFUL TREES

During my internet surfing I came across this craft project that I thought
was just way too cute and you do not have to dye the trees in the colors of Halloween only - you really could get creative with other colors for other occasions or to make the color of
any room decor - just too much fun - so check it out for yourself... HALLOWEEN TREES.

The morning has started off rainy - hopefully it will dry up later and we can enjoy the cooler weather that has hit the sunshine state - when temps do not go above 85 degrees this time of year - that is cool - that is wonderful!!!
I have discovered that the scrapbooking program that I use is not compatible with Vista..GEEZ!
So my question is does anyone use a scrapbooking program that is compatible with Vista? - I have no idea what I am going to do because now all my pages I have done - about 50-60 of them cannot be printed because there is no program that reads the format - geez - I am not happy!

LOVE SOME BUNNY

I have been spending my days with mega-surfing....finding things that are inspirational, topics that interest me, ideas for things to do etc...before I know it - hours have flown by - this really is a good thing. It has kept my mind busy (which is my first priority) and makes me feel like I am doing something good...moving forward.

I also have been busy creating my new blogs since AOL gave all their customers the boot..so I am trying to find peeps that I used to be in touch with at AOL...that is coming along well, I think.
Also in between - I am still creating my digital ATC cards...that keeps my muse happy.
So the love bunny above is my next extry for CED...I think it is cute - simple but cute!
Now this blog is NOT going anywhere - I am still using it for my art - my creativeness..but my everyday life blog and my inspirational share blog have now officially moved to blogger.

SOME INSPIRATION

Before anyone asks - no I did not take the above photos - I wish I did but that is nearly impossible because I live in Florida and we do NOT have changing leaves like up north - that is one of the things I miss most but that is about it...lol
Someone sent me the above picture so that I could look at those colors again so I thought I would share it here - fall colors can be so inspirational.
The picture really makes me feel good - now if any of you get to experience leaves changing their colors - PLEASE send me pictures of what you see - I really do miss that - I have not seen that in person in over 20 years - hohum!!! I would say send me some leaves by snail mail but I am wondering how long they would keep their color..lol.

Okay - today on AOL (yes I am one of their customers but I do not pay for AOL - ever since it went free)..I have kept an everyday blog there for over 5 years...lots of history, ideas, thoughts and feelings...and today AOL sent me a letter to say I have a month to remove my web pages-journal pages and pictures that are stored there because they are closing it...OMG - that company really knows how to destroy and turn away customers...they are NUTS...(I was going to use more colorful adjectives but I am trying to curb my tongue).
So the rumor has it that we might be able to migrate our journals over to blogger (I hope so) so I have saved my journal name already - here is the link: CRAZY LIFE ...so save it - there is nothing there yet but definitely click on follow me and save the link - because next week they will test out the migration of some blogs and if it works then everything I have will be on blogger.
I have 1000's of pictures stored there - now that is going to take a while to download into my external hard drive..geez!!!
My web pages upsets me - I have no idea what I will do about those.
ANYWAY--
Below is a craft project that I thought was a lot of fun - so I am passing it along...

MONOPRINTING

Monoprinting is a process whereby only one print is pulled from the printing plate.

What You Need:

Printmaking ink if you have it or a thick water-based paint. (Acrylic or tempera ... you can add flour to tempera to make it thicker and stickier like ink).
Paintbrushes.
Sheets of plexiglass (approx 12"x12") (any size - the roomier the better in my opinion) You can sometimes find plexiglass for next to nothing at your local lumber yard or hardware store. Just ask for the offcuts they normally throw away. You can also use old signs (the plastic ones) for this activity.
Paper.
A covered work area.
Soft rubber brayer or small paint roller. (optional)
Popsicle stick or pencil with eraser.

What You Do:

Method # 1

Using the brayer, roll ink out onto the plexiglass, covering it completely.
Using the end of a pencil or a popsicle stick, anything really, draw an image on the plexiglass.
Place paper on plexi and rub lightly.
Peel away paper.

Method # 2

Using the brayer, roll ink onto the plexiglass, covering it completely.
Place paper over plexiglass.
Using a pencil, draw an image on the paper.
When you peel away the paper, the image will have transferr ed itself.
This is very similar to using carbon paper.

Method # 3

Using your paintbrush, paint a design onto the plexiglass using as many or as few colours as you like. Work quickly ... don't let the paint dry!
Place paper over the plexiglass and rub lightly with the palm of your hand.
Peel away paper.
Sign your work.

**you do not have to use plexiglass - you can use a piece of strap glass or any smooth
surface like plexiglass - using it is great because it is SO easy to clean..no hassles!
The thicker the paint the better - you can also use plain fabric - instead of paper - truly the possibilities are endless and fun.....then after you have your newly decorated paper you can make journals or lil notebooks for gifts...again possibilities are endless..if you are going to make the paper for books or note books or such the paint color should be light - that way it can still be written on - you know what I mean?!-most of all - have fun**

LEMONADE ATC AND MARBELIZING PAPER

I did manage (in the months I was away) to create some digital ATC cards...
only about a handful - but at least I did something...so for me - that was a brave step..(trust me).
I will admit that I am a pink fanatic - love love love pink - so this lemonade fit right in...I also like it because it is so bright and it does remind me of summer - so I thought I would share it here since summer seems to have moved on for most of us. (I will include it as my entry for CED).
Besides all the great football games I managed to watch this past weekend,
I have been getting lost in surfing the web and going over old files of mine that I did manage to save...it has been quite interesting..

I found this craft project in my files and I thought I would share it here...too fun!!

Make Your Own Marbelized Paper

This is a neat way to make your own cards or stationary with that cool marbled effect. You will need:

a large bottle of liquid starch

severaal colors of acrylic paints

two large flat baking dishes or dish pans

a few custard cups

small bowls or empty margarine containers

paint brushes

a variety of tools to create patterns in the paint (such as a feather, nut pick, ice pick, coiled rubber cord, wire whisk, potato masher, fork or wide-toothed hair comb)

Fill one baking dish or dish pan with starch to a depth of about 2 inches; fill the second one with cool water. In custard cups or other small containers, dilute each paint color until it just barely drips from a brush. Then drip colors on top of the starch until the surface of the starch is nearly covered.

Create a pattern in the starch with one or many of your tools. Move the desired tool through the paint in straight lines, at geometric angels, in circles, or in rays. Even if you leave the dots undisturbed to produce a pebble pattern, no two patterns will be the same. Feel free to experiment and be creative!

Hold a card or piece of paper by opposite corners and bend it gently so the paper sags slightly. Lay it gently on top of the paint, but do not allow the paper to sink below the surface. Immediately lift paper back out of the starch. Hold it over the dish and allow the paint to drip off for a few seconds.

Rinse paper in the dish of plain water. Lift paper out of water and allow it to drip for about 15 seconds or until most of the water has dripped off. Lay the paper flat, paint side up, on a work surface to dry.

Making your own paper like this for cards and stationary is too much fun...my kids used to do this for gifts at Christmas...I hope someone else finds it useful - lol.

NEW ADVENTURES

I came across this craft project that I thought others would find interesting...I wish I had originally thought of it - love cork - lol
Here is the link where it has some helpful directions -CORK PROJECT - but you could really take this project in so many other directions - it gave me some ideas - which is what I want stirred inside of me when I am looking for inspiration...(you know what I mean?!?)
I also have signed up to be part of a book club for SOUL COACHING/SEARCHING...I am so excited about it because I truly feel it is going to help me break through some of the fog I live in. (depression has a habit of doing that). I am going to be writing about it in my other journal - MOTHER AND DAUGHTER PROSPECTIVE...so starting in November I should be blogging about it everyday - which is also going to motivate me to participate in NABLOPOMO..which I have always wanted to do.

I AM BACK

Hello Everyone-
WOWOWOW - it has been forever since I have checked in and for that I apologize...
Yes I was getting quite sick but then one thing led to another and I just could not recover fast enough for me!
I will say that there is good news...on January 25th I actually stopped smoking-cold turkey.
I had been smoking since I was a teenager - but I just woke up one morning and the desire
was no longer there - (why it took so many years beats me) but I am so grateful that the habit is gone.....I did not even have the slightest desire to light up or sneak a smoke or anything...
Honestly once I woke up with no desire - it has not entered my way of being anymore - THANK GOD I AM FREE....lol....I apparently inspired my hunnie and he quit in April...I am so happy
for him...what has kept him from smoking is the fact that I do not....so this is a double blessing!
So much has happened - suffice it to say - that lots of news has gone on- highlights include:

*daughter's prom
*daughter's graduation
*deployed Son in army came home for two weeks
*parents' health has declined
*some loving pets have gone on to the rainbow bridge
*computer crashed big time
*hurricanes have come and gone

As you can see it has been busy here - I will eventually get to all my news- I am taking things
very slowly so I do not feel so overwhelmed (which is a problem I am trying to deal with).
I do want to mention that because my puter crashed I have lost all of my saved sites and email addresses and such - so please - leave your blog address in the comments so I can build up my links again...I would so appreciate it!!!
BTW-- if you would like to create a word cloud (like my graphic above) go to WORDLE and check it out....you put in your site url and it gathers all the most commonly used words you use in your site and puts it all together for you - you can pick up the layout and colors too.,,..,I think it is pretty cool myself...LOL

I really like the way this fairy came out however - uploading it to blogger only made it fuzzy...blurry....so please click on the image to see what it really looks like...
I made this one quickly...still very much under the weather....(I am fighting a kidney infection

Just playing around in paint shop pro and I really liked this fairy so I made the ATC card.
It is pretty simple looking - but to be honest - I do not have alot of energy to sit at the
computer right now - still feeling down...GEEZ - this is driving me crazy!!!
